Every year, companies in Emmen battle for the Business of the Year award in Emmen and this year we get to be in the Top 4!

The award combines sustainability, impact on local economy and innovative solutions for the wellbeing of people. The award will be handed over by the councilor Economy of Emmen: Guido Rink.

The nominees of this year:

Proxcys: Technology that changes lives. Proxcys Emmen develops filters that are essential for the production of insulin, vaccines and cancer treatments. Proxcys connects technological innovation with global impact and contributes locally through employment and knowledge sharing. Rink: “Proxcys shows how you can make the world healthier from Emmen.”

Menicon: Innovation for a bright future Menicon has been producing contact lenses in Emmen for 50 years that are worn worldwide. With innovations such as night lenses and sustainable production processes, Menicon combines technology and environmental awareness. Through collaborations with schools, Menicon is committed to making young people enthusiastic about technology and healthcare. “Menicon sets a strong standard for future-oriented entrepreneurship,” said councilor Guido Rink.

Eekels: Sustainable technology and talent development. With more than 110 years of experience, Eekels works on solutions that reduce CO2 emissions and optimize energy consumption. Through their Eekels Mobile Academy they offer young people opportunities on the labor market. “Eekels proves that innovation and talent development contribute to a sustainable future,” Rink emphasizes.

Kollektief: Building inclusion together, Kollectief offers programs for people who need support, with special attention to women with a diverse cultural background. “Kollectief strengthens personal growth and social connection with creative tailor-made solutions,” says Rink.

Tomorrow on the 7th of January 2025, during the Emmense New Years reception, the award will be handed over to the winner of “Business of the year Emmen”.
